My approach to teaching singers involves the whole performer, not just their voice. Singing, as well as being a science, is a highly personal combination of technique and musicality and I ensure that all of my students receive a personal teaching style which is specifically tailored to their goals and experience, thus enabling them to flourish as an artist. As a working professional singer/actor, I understand the demands of combining emotional and musical instinct with a well-rounded technical foundation and make sure that my students learn to strike that balance.
I am currently a resident singing teacher at the Italia Conti Academy (BA Hons & Three Year Diploma Musical Theatre Courses) and Emil Dale Academy (Diploma & Foundation Musical Theatre Courses). I am also the Director of Scenaria Academy, an online and in-person part time training academy for young performers aged between 15-23, and run the singing department at Pure Rhythm School of Performing Arts. I have also worked with the ABRSM on the development of their Singing For Musical Theatre Syllabus.
In 2019 I was awarded a Distinction and the title Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music in Singing Teaching For Musical Theatre (assessed and mentored by Mary Hammond & Sam Kenyon) and have completed the Estill Voice Training Level 1 & Level 2 Course and Estill For Singing Teachers Course, both with Anne-Marie Speed at The Voice Explained. Through my years learning and honing my own craft, I use work from the Estill Voice Training, Bel Canto & SOVT Methods (I am an Official Affiliate for SOVT Straw) as well as elements from esteemed Soprano, Vocal Coach and Voice Researcher, Janice Chapman in my own teaching practise.
I have a private vocal studio where I teach professional performers and young singers (14+). If you wish to enquire about private lessons, please fill in the form below.
