Charlie-Jade’s approach to teaching singers involves the whole performer, not just their voice. Singing, as well as being a science, is a highly personal combination of technique and musicality and through this combination she ensures to encourage freedom of the mind and body to ultimately create freedom of voice and performance and enable singers to be able to flourish as an artist. As a working professional singer/actor, she understand the demands of combining emotional and musical instinct with a well-rounded technical foundation and make sure that her students learn to strike that balance.
Charlie-Jade studied Singing Teaching for Musical Theatre at the Royal Academy of Music and in 2019 was awarded a Distinction and the title Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music in Singing Teaching For Musical Theatre (assessed and mentored by Mary Hammond & Sam Kenyon). In addition, she has studied with Anne-Marie Speed in The Estill Model (Levels 1& 2 and Estill For Singing Teachers), has trained in Mindfulness with Be Mindful’s NHS Approved MBCT Course and was one of the first certified Vocal Health First Aider’s accredited by Vocal Health Education. She is currently studying to become a Vocal Health Rehabilitation Practitioner and researching further into a holistic approach to the voice and the mind-body connection.
Charlie-Jade currently holds teaching positions at Italia Conti Academy & Emil Dale Academy where she teaches students on both the BA Hons Degree & Diploma Courses in Musical Theatre. She is also the Founder & Director of Scenaria Studios; Holistic Voice Training For Your Whole Self and previously worked with the Associate Board of The Royal Schools of Music on their Singing For Musical Theatre Syllabus.

"Charlie-Jade is an amazing singing teacher, and has improved both my singing technique and my confidence in the year that we have had lessons together. She is patient and encouraging in every lesson, and always suggests great material and repertoire so that you can put your improved technique into practice. Thanks to Charlie-Jade, I have had an extremely successful audition season and will start training at GSA in September on the BA Hons Musical Theatre Course!"
"Since my first lesson with Charlie-Jade, I’ve developed so much and have become much more knowledgable in my voice. I always looked forward to my weekly lesson and I never came away without learning and discovering something new, notes of things to work on and a smile on my face.
Charlie-Jade really inspired me to delve deeper into my passion for classical pieces and legit musicals, whilst also maintaining the process of becoming a diverse performer. Also, her knowledge of musical theatre and repertoire continues to amaze and inspire me!
I can’t begin to thank her enough for her time during lockdown too and continuing to challenge me each week, even if it was on zoom! She kept me busy and helped keep my voice healthy and strong. Even through lockdown I discovered a huge amount about my voice and I’ve taken a lot away from those sessions to work on and help improve my singing. Charlie-Jade always taught me to relax, have fun and don’t overthink! I’ll be taking that with me, amongst all the other skills/knowledge she has taught me, into my next steps and the future, always thinking positively.
Thank you, Charlie-Jade for sharing your experience, for being so supportive, for always pushing me to help get the best out of me but most importantly, for always believing in me."
